Specific course information

The objective of the course is to present the fundamentals and techniques of the Work Safety and Health systems (WSH). Students will learn to identify and value the hazards and conditions that threaten workers in organizations and apply the techniques associated with the WSH systems, which are compulsory in Colombia for all types of organizations regardless of their economic activity or the number of employees.

  • To identify the system of professional risks recognized by the Colombia legislation.
  • To identify the role of the management of safety and occupational health in the economic and social development of organizations.
  • To apply the techniques for the identification and management of hazards and risks associated with accidents at work and professional diseases.
  • To apply concepts of industrial safety to prevent accidents at work.
  • To apply concepts of industrial hygiene to prevent professional diseases.
