Specific course information

The course presents the analysis of structures by using matrix methods. It also qualifies the student in the theoretical analysis of the behavior of structures subjected to dynamic loads produced by earthquakes.

Specific goals of the course

Learning objectives:
  • To analyze framed structures by the stiffness method for different types of loads.
  • To calculate the motion amplitude in SDOF and MDOF systems, with and without damping.
  • To calculate the displacements for different types of forced vibration.
  • To calculate and choose response spectrums for SDOF systems.
  • To select the NSR-10 requirements for the dynamic analysis of reinforced concrete or steel structures.
