Specific course information

The objective of the course is to present the legal concepts derived from the Colombian political constitution, the rules that regulate contracts with national, departmental and municipal authorities and regulations on public bidding processes.

Specific goals of the course

Learning objectives:
  • To identify the ethical responsibilities and rules of conduct of professional engineers.
  • To analyze the national political Constitution.
  • To identify the fundamentals concepts of enterprise creation.
  • To identify the contracting rules of state and local public entities.
  • To identify the suitability requirements and responsibilities of designers, builders and supervisors in the exercise of their professions.
  • To analyze the municipal land use plan.
  • To identify the requirements of planning permissions and construction licenses.
  • To identify the penalties of building regulations.
  • To identity the regulations of housing and property regime of apartment buildings.
  • To become familiar with the analysis of documents for bidding process.
